This may have been mentioned before, but today when I was changing spark plugs I found that the rear spark plug wire had rubbed all the way through the outer black sheath and had exposed the inner, white, core wire. It was rubbing against the frame member directly above the wire. It's certain that without intervention it would have cut all the way through.

Yep it happens. You will know it because when you ride in the rain it runs like crap! : )

Yes, if bike is under warranty they should fix it for free(?). How long would you like to wait to get warranty service?

Just do it yourself; after market wires that are better(?) than stock are available for about $30.
Or, get another set of OEM wires (got a set of OEM wires from Al @ American Sport Bike) and wrap
them in spiral wire wrap before installing.
That's what I did when doing the 10k service on my Uly.
There is no way the wire will get damaged before the next scheduled replacement...
