I just installed the Touratech footpegs and shorty shift lever (I bought them both used). Took a very quick ride and the shifter feels fine but the brake lever is way too low.

The photo on the Touratech site shows a non-stock brake lever but I don't see one listed for sale. Anyone know if they sell one?

Also, I've got the brake lever adjusted as high as it will go but was thinking I could raise the lever if the threaded adjuster rod were longer. Does anyone know if the adjuster rod is part of the complete master cylinder or if it will simply unscrew from the unit?

I didn't want to try to take it off but if it will simply unscrew and completely separate from the master cylinder, maybe I can make a longer rod so I can adjust the stock brake pedal higher.

Thoughts?

Just got a response from Touratech:

The foot controls have been discontinued in the US but are still available as a special order part from Germany. They don't fit well and do required some drilling and machining to fit the US bikes but we can get them for you. Since they are special order, they are obviously non-refundable/returnable and must be pre-paid by cash or check.

Doesn't really sound like a viable option. Has anyone found a taller brake lever that is compatible with the Uly?

I just rode 250 miles with the Touratech pegs. They're excellent...like standing on platforms. But when seated I can barely activate the rear brake and when standing, I can't even find the lever.

Take a stock brake pedal to a local machinist, tell him exactly how much higher you want it, and see if he can't make you one for less than a king's ransom.

OR... make one yourself out of steel?

OR... configure a sort of block to install on the end?

Just throwing out ideas.

Making one myself isn't an option right now since I'm in the city. I don't have the facilities to fabricate in my apartment.

I've already though about adding some kind of block...that might have to be the solution for the short term but I'm hoping to find a better long term solution.

I'm surprised no one has dealt with this in the past. I guess Touratech isn't selling too many of Uly pegs???

Here's another idea- In the last few days, somebody posted a pic of a shift lever on a Uly that had been sectioned, angled, and re-welded to raise it like this. Seems like you could do that with a brake lever easily enough. Buy a new one or a used one off of ebay as a backup.

That's probably what I'll have to do.

I'm guessing they are cast aluminum?

EDIT: Hughlysses...I can't seem to find the thread with the picture of the sectioned lever.

Do you have a link?
