Since snugging the interactive exhaust valve connector (center spade connector) at the ECM, the bike has been running fine. I think the muffler valve was not working properly and I was getting a big hole in the midrange powerband. Does this make sense to you?

Sounds like you fixed it. I did a 1000 mile weekend with mine and it was flawless!
