I have the triple tail backpack and really like it, but I don't like it resting on the seat. It just seems to be in the way there. To solve the problem I made this simple support shelf so the pack can hang off the back side and not rub on the tail section. Makes room for a passenger too...
While it feels sturdy, I don't think I will be hauling any heavy stuff on it though.

Looks nice, although I would be concerned with it reducing visibility of the brake. I see you got hyper lights or something like that on there too. Last thing you need is getting creamed by Soccer Mom in her H2 cause she didn’t realize you were slowing down.

I like the idea. I need something like that to support my sleeping bag. I use the holes in the triple tail to snug up the bag, but it always like to droop into the tail light. You can see the setup in my profile pic.

Wanna make a another one and sale it to me?

This was a consideration. It's not as bad as the picture makes it look. The factory trunk package is probably worse. If Ms. Soccer Mom gets so close she can't see the light, it is probably already too late.

5/16-18x1

No, but strangely enough they sell this stuff in the housewares section of many department stores. Anyway, you just never know when you might have to fillet some fish or slice some tomatoes at the campground...

No

I like it alot. I have always thought that the tail trunk just did not look right on the bike and I also do not like the rack by itself because of the stupid little lip on the bracket. I have the bag, but I have found getting on and off the bike difficult when the bag is full. I suppose I could carry a small folding step when I have the bag on the seat.
