My drive belt snapped last night. 5400
miles on the bike/belt and the belt was
almost new looking. I assume this is a warranty case? Is the 09 part the same
as the 08? Anyone else experience a belt failure so soon?

**** happens. The belt is warranty. Some people get 50k out of them, others break them picking up a new bike from the dealer. The 2009's have a new belt, claims to be stronger.

Are you still on the original tire? It’s possible a tire change damaged the belt. Any pictures of the break?

My '06 Uly was on it's 4th belt when I traded it in on my '08.

Must be something on the road out in Hobart/Ravensdale eating them up?

Downtown H-D/Buell waranteed every one.

I think I seen you, Rahbert, about two weeks ago in the afternoon on the Hobart/Issaquah road near hwy 18. I was on my SV650 with a small black fairing going the other way towards Issaquah.

Humm...I got about 15,000 on my first belt, and changed it just because it was two years old. I still have it as a spare.

I've had the new belt on and it's holding up fine too.

And believe me, I am not gentle on the bike by any means.

Sucks about your belt. According to the 09 press release, the 09 Uly belt is a new part incorporating improvements from the 1125R belt.

Yes I'm still on my original Syncs, and
I saved the belt. When I get hope I'll dig out the camera...

Hey Debueller, That might have been me. I
sometimes go the long way around to avoid
the Issaquah-Hobart Rd circus. Eastside has
been pretty good about fixing the bike. They took care of my bearing failure and
ECM flash. Of course they are also trying to sell me a certain White Road King ... ; )

Let me know if you find a dealer that has some. I've been waiting for one that's been on order from Chicago H-D since the beginning of July.........back-ordered 'till August 22nd, I was told. Fortunately, I ordered it as a spare and not a replacement.

Check with Al @American Sport Bike - thats where I got my 'spare' in less than a week. Dealer parts inventory continues to be a challenge for Buellers - weak link in the "customer service" chain.

My 08 Ulysses belt just broke. 11000 miles on it and the dealer is replacing it under warranty. I just got the bike back from having the fork seals replaced after a trip to Alaska. They leaked so bad that the fluid contaminated my front brake. Made for interesting riding. I'm not easy on my Uly. Lots of gravel back roads.
