According to the new Parts and Accessory catalog, the 8 piston caliper will only work on 08- later models? How come?

Froggy, they do have one. But only for 08- later models. You have to change the master cylinder as well. This is why I don't get it.

This is thinking out loud only as I do not know much about XB's in general or Uly's in particular. About the only thing I can come up with is with the offset triple clamps and front axle location of the '08-up Uly that the length of the brake line on the '08-up Uly might be different than the '06's and '07's. Anyone with part number looking up abilities know if the '08-up Uly front brake line is a different part number than the '06&'07?

Oddly enough this conversion is in the back of my head for my XT-BOLT. One consideration that I'm having is the availability of aftermarket pads. If everyone loves the Lyndall Gold pads on the 6 pot caliper, will similar options be available for the 8 pot? Scratch that, looks like - as usual - Al is on top of things:
Lyndall Gold pads for the ZTL2 8 pot caliper

H1531.1AK is the part number for a Uly brake line. Honestly i don't know what year its for. I got one here new in the bag because i was going to put Uly bars on my SS.

Thanks Tipsy,
maybe just a misprint from Buell?
I think it should fit 07 models as well.
Will contact Buell directly to find out.

Yes, look up any hydraulics shop. Did it on my early R80 G/S to adapt a Honda caliper to the German master.

Al IS (as usual) on top of it - but sad to report Mr Lyndall is @ Sturgis and Al is currently out of stock on the Gold pads. Someone needs to go to SD and haul his sorry ass back here. Hell of a way to run a business. Doesn't he know half of us have surging front brakes... and the other half cant stop ?
