I snapped my front axle during a wheel remount, I think it was because I didnt take in account that the torque wrench I used didnt click when tightening CCW.

Is it possible I damaged the bearings? They appear ok and turn smoothly.

Kurt

Most things are possible, so yes, the bearings might be damaged.

The only way to know for sure (before failure in service) is to remove the bearings (which damages them for sure), then measure the length of the spool that sets the inner race distance.

If I were you I would replace the axle, bearings and the spacer and consider it a lesson learned.
