I just have to share this story. After about a month of having my new to me 2006 Uly and of course farkling the hell out of it to keep up with Treadmarks, I've run into the wonderful wiring bundles issue on the front of the bike. So I'll give you the "Pucker" story! Down here in Miami, power is incredibly expensive as the towns charge a fortune for the property taxes, but apparently don't have enough leftover for streetlights, so it gets quite dark off the main roads. So here I am, zipping along a nice little winding road, Old Cutler, through the mansions when pow, NO HEADLIGHT. No low beam, No high beam - although the indicator came on. Definetly makes you go "Hmmm" at 60 in the dark. So I stopped, got out of the roadway, and noticed that when I hit the bike, the light comes back on! And when the bars aren't pointed straight forward, works fine! I'm pretty confident where the problem is, I just had to share that story. All and all, I love this bike. Had a 2001 GS and this is SO much more fun, IMHO. Cheers all! | ||

Dam Kev. It can get scary dark on old cutler without a headlight. Good luck with the wiring bundle, I'm sure it's pretty simple. | ||

I had the same thing at about 1100 one night, but lucky for me it was intermittent when I turned the bars to the left. I just made sure I took a right-handed spiraling route back to the house... Mine was a broken wire where it grounds to the frame right behind the headlight assembly, not the wire bundle. But it may be different in different cases. | ||

Easiest thing I've had to fix yet.  Just a frayed/broken ground wire, MUCH easier than getting into the wire bundle, that's for sure. I did learn to put a new item under my seat, one of those shaker (non-battery) flashlights. Now if I can just figure out A/C.  |
