Those of you who have had their fan fail how long from the time you started hearing the rattle till she quit? Mine just started when I got home from work today. Just curious how long I have to get a replacement. Thanks Ken |

Mine lasted about 10,000 miles before it finally croaked. My (ex)dealer's service department wouldn't replace it until it died completely. |

I replaced mine at 5,000. It could have gone much further. |

As for me, rattles don't scare me. @ 6k my NineR started to rattle. at 32k she still rattles. I'll get worried when it stops blowing air. My uly had a rattle when i got her @ 16k. @ 18k she developed weird speed fluctuations. Speed up and slow down, in and out, sounded really bad, along with the rattle. Just ask fatty or chadhargis, it sound pitiful. Like it was really sick. Like a sick moan/whine. I replaced the the dead fan on the side of the road after 1500 miles of the fluctuations with a spare fan I scored on ebay. Seller claimed it came from a wrecked 12r with 10k miles. It rattled after i put it in. It still rattles @ 21k. Im not worried until it starts erratically fluctuating speed. |

Mine went about 6,000 after is started sounding bad. It made the fan conversations with strangers more interesting. |

Mine started dying about 5500. Took it to the dealer, no problem replacing it under warranty once they heard the rattle. It still worked but there were speed fluctuations as well. IMO it points to bearings. |

Mine started around 5k, it would randomly get better or worse, asked my dealer to swap it at 15k, they did it no questions asked. |
