I have yet to order my service manual for my 06' Uly so I have no idea about bolt tightness or locktite/thread lock on the allen bolts that I circled in the picture. I got my Rox Risers last week from American Sportbike (they're silver?) and I need help on the torque specs - could someone post a scan or something of these please? Thanks in advance....

Til it's good and tight.

Who uses torque specs?

You will need one on the head bearing bolt. Other than that, I wouldn't get too anal.

I should add that I am aware that the pinch bolts and the steering head bolt torque will be in the manual but obviously not the Rox Riser bolt torque. While I have the bars off I would like to check the steering head bolt torque to verify it's within limits. I would like to get ideas as to how tight others tightened theirs....

I am far from anal, however I can imagine over tightening and stripping out the aluminum.
Then a flurry of swear words and a tear will follow!

I check torque specs for brake components, wheel mounting, steering head, and engine and drive line components. Body panels, handlebars, switch gear, etc. don't really matter. You should be able to feel then they are tight enough. If you tighten it enough to strip out the metal, you are WAY over tightening (and probably have arms like Popeye).

Perhaps I should send you a photo of myself - I DO eat lots of spinach! : ) I don't know how I compare to a guy named "Fat Bastard" - but I'm not exactly a shrinking violet! I could snap these bolts like a carrot stick I fear...

Clamp bolts are 10-12 ft lbs.

Steering stem capnut should be tightened to 38-42 ft-lbs after testing resistance.

Resistance should be between 1-7lbs.

What does 'biting tongue' have to do with typing?

Clenching fingers, maybe.

Treadmarks - um...yeah....about that, I was gonna tell ya. Thanks for doing the write up on the install for the Rox Risers a while back (found it with a search). And I forgot to mention that I "borrowed" your pic for my description of what I wanted the torque specs on! Any other info that you feel like sharing about them PM me please...

Johnboy - even my wife got a kick outta THAT one!
