So I took a nice long ride in 95+F weather. Some on highway and some in the city. Oil temp 215F. I stopped at a book store for 15 mins. and left, but at start-up the right side had a "knock, knock..." the sound went away after 2 mins. I rode right back home about 10-15 miles and I let sit off for 15 mins. Started it up and again the noise. Everything like the fan and the rest of the engine behavior was *normal. Oil is at the mid-way point on the d.stick. It sounded just like a collapsed lifter, but I only heard this if the engine has been sitting for a very long time and at cold start-up. This morning with 70 degree weather and oil temp at 180 F ... all good. After 2 hours/cooler engine ...all good also. Anyone else? and is this a early bad lifter? Thank you, Chas |

took the Uly out in 95 F weather and the oil got nice and hot with freeway riding (220F oil temp). Engine sounded and acted perfectly. The only change was I put on the 1$ RSS. Chas |
