I would like to get a tank bag but am not sure of which one. I like the looks and features (and it's made in the USA too) of this one in black.

Any comments would be appreciated!

good friend who lives in CO and rides a GS650 with a plastic tank like ours has a wolfman tank bag... don't think it is the same one you highlighted but he absolutely loves it... plus actually made in Colorado.... I think Boulder area maybe... he visited the factory/store when he bought his... he consistantly pushes me to get one....

Pete - Good to hear a good word about it, maybe I'm headed in the right direction with this!

Ft - Checked out the thread, valuable insight and opinions there. Looks like the guy drilled and mounted the grommets into his tank! And to think I got pissed when I scratched my tank with the zipper off my damn coat! BTW, your profile pic is um, disturbing! : )

Thanks for the input so far....

Actually the grommets are simply mounted to the front tank bolts. It's how the Buell bag mounts. You can do the same with any bag that has front clips with the nylon webbing.

You don't even have to scratch your tank. : D

I'll be damned - looked like they were drilled! Thanks for the clarification, after hearing that then perhaps that is an option for me...

Others have taped/glued washers to the back side of their airbox and used magnetic bags.

Curly - Looks like a great fit for the bike, and looks like you got it rigged up pretty well with electronics too! Please tell me how often you use it (how does it hold up to everyday wear) and also does the bag scratches the hell out of the tank? Is it relatively waterproof (or are zip lock baggies in order) and does the angle allow for easy map reading?
Thanks for your time...

BTW... I forgot to ask if you have to move or readjust the bag when refueling

I do because it isn't that hard to remove and replace, and I don't want to risk getting fuel all over it.

I have used that bag everyday for three years(previously on KLR650) and it still looks new. It has rubber bottom so it does not scratch the airbox cover. In light rain the bag is pretty water resistant, for downpours i have a rain cover for it which I purchased from Aerostich. I have a GPS so i don't worry about map reading. I do not remove the bag to refuel, i just use caution not to get gas on it. J&M Integratr mounted on outside is used for music, cb communication, GPS directions and just about any other gadget you can think to hook to it. Just hook em up and stick em inside.

Curly - If your bag is three years old and it held up THAT long to everyday use then I think my search is over and I need to get one!

Nipsey - the expedition light...is that the one made with the PVC sides?

Gwis, I have several pieces of wolfman luggage and all have been top quality. It cost more than some but you definitely get what you paid for with wolfman.
