Author Message   Scottykrein Posted on Monday, June 16, 2008 - 08:52 pm:        So this weekend I installed the Iridium plugs, changed the air filter, and put two 1 inch holes in the air box. When all was finished the idle was a little high, so I backed it down to 1050. On the ride home the idle was stuck at 2500, but it would drop back to normal after a minute in neutral. This morning it idled fine until about 10 minutes into my commute the idle would stick around 1700. It doesn't happen all the time while riding. So other than the occasional high idle there's no problems. No coughing or popping. So did I not hook a hose up correctly? Could it be the exhaust valve sticking? FWIW, mine acted just like that if I had the idle set a tad too high after a TPS reset. .   Andrejs2112 Posted on Monday, June 16, 2008 - 09:05 pm:        Did you do this with a cold engine? If so, yep that's what happens. You can do a TPS reset, or run the bike for 5 miles or so at about 3000 to 3500 rpm steady. Get out your tinfoil hats! It is nice to let it start and run when it's cold though. I have to play with the throttle on my X1 until it warms up.
