there's more to you fat than any one person can really handle.lol. how much time do you spend looking up some of this stuff that you post, or is it already on your computer for rapid response.

as far as the windscreen goes, i'm getting ready to take it off all together. i don't get any noise with my helmet on the m2 but even with the short wind screen i still get noise. don't like it at all. i've got a full fairing on the ultra and for that application i'll keep it. other than that, don't need no wind screen on the buells.

Hey California,

Got it toady at my office - many thanks.

We have a great plastics supplier here in town, so I might just have them fab it up.

BTW, what is the best plastic for this application (i.e., plex, acrylic, etc.??).

Thanks again,
John

Just found out that Plexiglass is the trade name for acrylic - plex is acrylic.

The shop near me has only .093 ... so just a tad thicker vs the .080.

did you get my reply email?

if not, I used lexan that I got at a Lowe's, it's virtually indestructable. Plex is too brittle for my taste, and when it breaks, it breaks in very sharp shards like plain old glass.

"" I used lexan that I got at a Lowe's,""

Thanks CA, I'll give it a try.

BTW, do you prefer the larger or smaller version?

John

I just rode over 750 miles with the Palmer brackets and my "non-lip" buell tall screen. I cruised with the visor up on my RF1000 for about 95 %! This is a top shelf product, works as promised, and totally transformed my riding experience on the Uly! After trying many solutions on the FZ1 and a Laminar on the Uly this is the first windscreen set-up that works for me! Kudos to Iain for making the thing, and letting the rest of us use it!

In my case noise was dramatically reduced, I even rode a bit without realizing I had not put in my earplugs! This does seem to depend alot on the type of helmet you have and what kind of wind you are dealing with...

took the plexi off and it was just as quiet as the m2 so i'm probably gonna leave it that for right now.

Here's a photo of the Memphis Shades lower deflectors installed. These are universal deflectors but the clamps that attach them to the fork legs are sized by application. These are the same size as a Honda VTX. There is a little filing to be done along the side of the deflectors along the aluminum housing that the turn signals mount on to allow for clearance so they don't hit the frame on a full lock turn. They stop all the turbulence from the air flow over the top of the airbox cover. I have a Parabellum 26" windshield, and the fit between the shields and the windshield is as good as it gets.
