Ok,

Broke both latches on the rightside case back around 5 May. After numerous trips to the dealer and three calls to Buell customer service I still only have the case latch. No one seems to be able to identify the latch that locks the case to the rack.

Someone throw me a bone please. I need a valid part number for the latch with lock assembly.

One possibility is to look in the XT parts manual (if it hasn't been used already). When I was looking for the internal case supports, there was nothing in the 06 X parts manual. Sorry I don't know the specific answer to your question.

Looked at the manuals available at the dealer and the parts breakdown for the sidecases. This latch isnt shown. When we called Buell CS provided a part number but it was for the seat latch. I called them again and got new part numbers. I ended up with keys and an unidentifiable part. Someone here provided me with Part #90114-06Y and 90110-06Y, both turned out to be case latches, but not the latch that locks the case to the rack.

Try going straight to Hepco & Becker. They have a complete spare parts catalogue for the Journey cases.
The part you are looking for is the HalteschloB,Shlussel,Adapter Art.-Nr.700.101

That part is available at:

http://www.adventurersworkshop.com/Merchant2/merch ant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=700_101&Category_ Code=Accessories_Spares

A little more costly then the top latch plus there doesnt appear to be a matching key option. You would think Buell would offer the part as well. When I asked Court about it earlier he said it was available, he just didnt have the part number.

If you can't find a part number, check http://eurotechmotorsports.com. They carry the Journey bags and lot of the parts that we've needed in the past.

Good luck!

I ordered that same kit from eurotechmotorsports to fix one of my latches. It is real easy to swap out the lock barrels so that you still only have to use one key, unless your like me and that was the part that was broken......

Thx for the info on the lock barrels, Thesmaz. Just bought a top case from a fellow Ulyer here and will change it out to match my side cases. Are the barrels coded to match the keys and can I order them through my dealer or another vendor?

The barrels that are in the Buell cases are Buell specific and eurotechmotosports can't get them. I tried to get them through Buell, no luck either. I even tried to swap out the locking pins inside the new barrel only to find that the key guide (the slot where you insert the key) is 180 deg different and the keys are cut different. I now have to carry two keys with me but thankfully I only have to use the new key to remove the bag from the rack.
