Along the way on my road trip the last few weeks I got the chance to visit three Ulysses towns. I really do trust my side stand!!
First up was Ulysses, KS.

Kansas

I stopped by on my way back from CA. I had to go the long way around due to the snow in the Rockies. Cool town near the middle of the state. I had no idea that so much natural gas was produced in that area.

Next up was Ulysses, NY.

It really isn’t a town but a township. It had a sign and a court house so I say it counts. There is a great little state park nearby and tons of wine tasting for anyone’s taste. The Finger Lakes region has great day rides. The small towns that line the lakes always have some event going on every weekend.

Today I ran down to Ulysses, PA.

I have been there before but not on the ULY so I had to visit once again. Small town with lots of looks at the “stranger in the yard” but the people were friendly. PA has some rough roads but the ULY smoothed them out. I love the old roads that follow the logging rail beds that have gone from the area long ago.
I’m considering stopping by Ulysses, KY on the way south to sweet home AL from NY but it may have to wait. The ULY is starting to show some signs of wear as I packed on over 5000 miles in the last 2 ½ weeks. The fan died 2800 miles back in Las Vegas, drive belt broke in Santa Fe: that story requires a separate post, today I noticed a tear in the rubber on the front isolator mount so we’ll see how long it lasts. Well off the garage to figure out how to get a dent out of the race pipe! Need another post to explain that story.

I always wonder the same thing when I see signs that say "Live Band!" Dead bands just aren't as much fun.

Or "ATM Machine." Automatic Teller Machine Machine?
