I know there's a Homecoming thread in the Clubs and Events area but just curious who's planning to attend from the Uly community?

I'm planning to leave NYC and take three days to get there...probably camp along the way. I'll likely look on the ADV Tent Space Thread to find places to camp along the way but just thought I'd see if anyone is leaving from the Tri-State area or somewhere along the way? Anyone want to kill some miles together?

That said, I haven't planned a route yet so if there are any "must ride" roads in your area between NYC and Troy, please let me know.

Tipsy

I'll be there with my son and a friend from work (Troyyz). We will be doing some camping on the way too. I have already started the count down!

I'll be riding my XT, I've got my route planned out and am also counting down the days.
I'll be riding through Colorado and can hook up with any riders there heading that way...

We are leaving Colorado early and heading to homecoming via the scenic route...through the Blackhills and the Badlands, trying to stay off the interstates and doing a little camping on the way. Anyone having the extra time is more than welcome to join us.

Some of you may recall me whining about how the homecoming I attended last year was so not like a rally. Touring the factory was really great. Seeing all the Buells in the parking lot and meeting Erik was a hoot, but most of the rest of the events were too spread out, with events all over south-eastern Wisconsin. I just wanted to park my bike and start drinking for three days as I do at BMW national rallies.

Then, thanks to the insights of Badwebbers I came to accept that the Homecoming was just a different animal. I started to look forward to going. It has been on my calendar since January.

Then, without consulting me, the GF's brother picked a date for his wedding on the west coast. Yep, that week! ARGH!

I look forward to seeing everyone at the 2009 Homecoming.

If the wedding is in Chicago...there is no reason you can't do both! If not, then hire a stand in for your brothers wedding!

I appreciate your suggestion, but I can't imagine replacing the current GF in the limited amount of time between now and the Homecoming. Plus, I already bought a suit.

I'll be riding from CT. Not sure, but I will probably have the wife with me too. That being said, we'll probably be staying in hotels, as it'd be a big pain in the arse to pack camping gear (tent, two bags, air mattress, etc.) and clothes for both of us for a week and a half. (6 days travel time, 5 days in WI)

But we will be taking a nice leisurely ride from CT to WI. I'm looking at US 6 in PA, as per Clement Salvadori's column in the June issue of
Rider. It may be out of the way, but all the best roads usually are.

I'm going! But it's only about a 45 minute ride to the factory from my house and about two hours to Road America so it's not much of a trip, but I'm still looking forward to it anyway!

I'm like Don, less than an hour away. I have plans to go too. First, I'm off to the MN 1000. Where I broke my collar bone last year, right before the 24th homecoming. That won't happen two years in a row. Looking forward to the events.

I went last year and had a great time. This year things are now looking like I won't be there. I also have to go to the wife's family reunion on the same weekend. I know, I know, get a new wife and in-law package with different timing.........no thanks, she won't let me.

I only live 45 minutes west of East Troy so I will be going back and forth. SE Wisconsin is probably the most boring part of the state for those looking for scenery or good roads. What we need is an annual rally for Uly's that is a fun place to ride with scenery every year.

I live a couple hours away from East Troy but both my wife and I will be attending. I on the Uly and her on the blast.

My wife, son, and I are riding to East Troy. 3 bikes. 06' Uly, 07' Sportster, 89' Yamaha Radian YX600. Biggest expence will be the freaking fuel.

So who's bringing a laptop and knows what they're doing with ECMSpy?

I've got the Drummer installed and it sounds GREAT! All I want to accomplish is eliminate the off-idle delay (I blip at traffic lights and I'm not ashamed of it) and the decel popping.

I've got a 2008.

Tipsy,
You'd better bring extra plugs with the blipping.

Hey Bart, when are you headed out and when do you think you will be in Colorado? My work will dictate when I can leave but if nothing else maybe we can hook up for a couple of miles.

You have a place to stay if you are between Pueblo and Colorado Springs....

I would like to go, but i think I might die of boredom on the ride up there. I hate interstates.

I will be coming up from central Florida, on interstates mostly. Looking forward to seeing past friends and making quite a few new ones.

When are you guys planning to arrive?

I haven't registered or made reservations yet, but I guess I'll plan to stay at the host hotel for at least a night or two.

I'm checking in on the 2nd, at the host hotel. The rate was actually cheaper than a military discount would have been, so I decided to stay there.

To arrive on the 2nd, I expect to leave CT around the 30th. It's a little less than 1000 miles, so that'll make three seven-hour days, with relaxing evenings.

Planning to ride the Uly west from the Philly area to meet with Toona and then trailer from there to Homecoming to arrive at the host hotel on the 2nd.
