First off I apologize for re-asking this question. I'm sure it's been beat to death. I am putting a Jardine slip on on my 2007 ULY. I have a k & n air filter, but no air flow modifications. I don't need any extra power. Can I get away with running the stock maps without doing engine damage?

Yes, you'll be fine. It really comes down to "correctness" when remapping due to mods. Will the bike run smoother, deliver more power, and improve overall driveability with a custom map?...Yes (and it's obviously recommended). But the AFV will compensate for the "leaner" condition. All that to say, you won't blow it up by not remapping, just maybe missing out on its full potential.

There have been people that did the intake and exhaust, but no ECM tweaking. Then the engine burned out, and Buell wouldn't cover it. Do yourself the favor, your spending this much already doing these other mods, so do it right and get a race ECM or remap.

I had the stock ECM on my bike with Drummer, it sounded horrible with the popping on decel, and had a lumpy feeling torque curve. Put race ECM on, did TPS reset and thats all those problems vanished : )

I've had the jardine on my for a few weeks and have decided to add the race ecm. Bike runs fine the way it is but definitely not optimized as was the case with the stock pipe and valve.

Keep in mind the Race ECM was specifically designed for the Buell Race pipe, which was tuned accordingly.

So what happens with the jardine/race ecm? Will is start/run/run like crap? Should I do the K&N at the same time? Sorry, this is my first Buell...

Wrongway2,
Here's my 2cents with regard to your question.

Install the pipe.
Take a 10 minute ride to warm the engine.
Reset the TPS.
Reset the AFV.
Then go ride for an hour or more, making mental notes on how the bike is running.
Return home and check the AFV.
Is the AFV value between 90 and 110% (preferably 100%)?
Yes: bike is good to go...
No: remapping is needed.
