I left Albq, NM Monday morning for CA, my robot conference, and over a week of travel/camping afterwards (and 50,000 miles on the '06 Uly). Well, here I sit in the Westin Pasadena with my tail 'twixt my legs; gonna bail out and ride back to Albq on Sat/Sun. The culprit: HUGE storm system over western USA. I only have one week of vacation this summer (that's strange; college professors should have summers off, right? Well, tryin' to pay off the house). So I don't wanna "waste" my week on lousy weather. Guys (er, and gals), I'm gonna try this same trip again later in the summer, with better weather. I'll do an ADVRider.com ride report anyway; I'll give y'all the link. Dr. (whupped) Greg |

sorry to hear about this. I hope it goes better next time. On the bright side, you don't have to worry about getting stranded on the Uly in the middle of bumble****. |

Murphy's Law Dr. Greg... We've been finishing up our move to San Bernardino this past week, friggin' temp in the 100's up until yesterday. Was looking forward to my first ride in weeks this weekend. Now it's pouring rain and in the 40's outside. Too bad, maybe when you try it again we can meet up and shoot up The Crest for breakfast at Newcomb's Ranch. Great riding everywhere out there! Have a safe trip back home! |

Dr Greg, I got stuck in the middle of bumble**** in Durango, CO. I have a trip report that has been an adventure from the start, but the last few days have been the best. here is a teaser pic.

I guess that answers the question as to whether or not the Uly will be dependable. Evidently more than the owner. I hate it when good rides get rained out. MBV sucked for rain. Shame really. |

Yeah it was freaking snowing in California up in the San Bernardino mountains where I live. It is the end of May for goodness sake. Oh well so much for a nice holiday weekend. |

Its been a very unusual week weatherwise in So Cal. 100+ last weekend, thunderstorms, tornadoes, rain, hail, snow the last 2 days. Usually the best time to ride here with little rain and the scenery not burned to a crisp by the summer sun. Best of luck on your next attempt. |

I would have rode on some more but the CO state trooper said "it wouldn't be in my best intrest to continue I my current direction". The nice way of saying turn the hell around. that pass was closed an hour after i was turned around. I have a hell of a tire report also on the Roadsmarts. The snow into Chama NM was just as bad as CO. |

I'm waiting for your Roadsmart tire report. I have a pair in my basement waiting to be mounted. |
