I just used these on a 4 day trip in PA. They wrap nicely around the bag handles to secure them in case of a latch failure. In my opinion they are easier to use than bungees. I'm sure they have many other uses as well.

I have no affiliation with this company. I just thought they are a clever, well thought out product. I got mine at Wally World.

"They wrap nicely around the bag handles to secure them in case of a latch failure."

Where are you wrapping them? Attached to anything else? Grab handle?

I just twisty-tie them around the bag handles. One tie on each bag. I guess you could also wrap it around the grab handle.

I don't see how that would work since the handle on the bags is on the outer portion(lid). If the latch fails the lid still opens.

I was wondering the same thing.

LMFAO, I'm a f*^king idiot. I never really paid attention to the design. Yes, you would have to secure it to the grab rail in order for it to work. Good thing my latches didn't fail this weekend.

In over 34,000 miles, I had ONE bag latch fail; and that was because my daughter kicked it while getting off the bike.
If a Twist thingie makes you feel more secure, then use it.
I think it's unnecessary.

Don't worry, I did the same thing a few months ago. That's why I asked the question. After I looped a tie wrap around the "handles" my "friend" calmly unlocked the bag and opened the lid.

Only one failure so far, but almost ruined a 7 day trip. I carry nylon straps with buckles. Goes around the whole bag and is very secure.

I carry a fist full of cable ties. they have many uses and pack very small. however those twist ties are kinda cool.
