I guess this has been done to death and the best person to ask has, Warbaby, has gone over to the Dark Side and gotten himself a Yamaha!!!

Anyway, Warbaby lowered his Uly 2" by having a specialist company fit GSX-R valving components to his forks, (did he shorten the forks too???) and fitting a custom made Penske shock.

My question is, why couldn't you simply fit Lightning or Thunderbolt forks and shock?

My first lowering was with a XB9 shock and raising the forks in the triple clamps. Then I had the Uly shock shortened, revalved and resprung but kept the forks as they were. Also, need to shorten the side stand an equivalent amount.
