Longevity, yes it is increased. A Maybe is less risk of fouling, but that is all I have seen.

Steve,

Do you do any off-pavement riding?

I have used the ME-880's on cruisers before and I do like them a lot for that application.

I have a pair of Me-880's on a Dyna FXD and they were a great improvement over the Harley branded Dunlops (D401/D402?).

On another cruiser forum, I was reading about some ME-880 issues with sidewall flaws and with requirements for gross amounts of weight (like 4 ounces) to get them to balance. The problem was described as being with ME-880's made in Brazil (which is what I have). And, on that forum, they were talking about tires being used on cruisers and baggers.

The ME-880s were originally produced in Germany, then production was shifted to Brazil. The problem seems to be only with the Brazilian made tires.

My ME-880s are fine at about 2,500 miles and balanced with 3/4 oz. of weight.

Jack

I've been on some dirt and gravel roads and they seem fine to me. Of course I'm not pushing it hard in those areas because I'm not experienced at sliding as some other riders are.
