I looked, but did not find any info on this on badweb. Anyhoo, it is listed on penske's site as a replacement for the Uly, anyone tried it? Does it justify the $1200 price tag? I asked if it would lower the suspension of the Uly but their engineer wasn't familiar with the stock damper stats, so if you have those on hand I would greatly appreciate it. Their damper has an extended length of 14.84" and stroke of 3.29". If this does lower the bike, I'm thinking a re-valve and new springs for the front forks at least, any input on that? I'm shooting for about 2" lower and a little more sporty geometry, but trackside engineering's website doesn't seem to be up anymore so that isn't an option at the moment. Thank you for your time, Phil EDIT: Sorry, 2006 XB14X (Message edited by de50man on May 13, 2008) |

I'm planning a trip down to Traxxion Dynamics soon. It may be before you get beck in February. I'm actually looking at the Elka shock for mine. I have the same questions. I was thinking that if we are going to go ahead and redo the rear, why not shorten the front a little while we are at it. I'd like to shave off an inch and make it closer to the STT height. |

So...put STT stuff in and save some money. I think when we put cg stuff on Firebolts it retails out for around $600. |

Not to say that the STT stuff wouldn't work, or lower the suspension. I'm just looking to improve the handling a fair amount while lowering the suspension at the same time. And the best way that I can see to do that is to get an aftermarket (penske) damper and race/road oriented front springs, along with a revalve. Too many times I have settled on something that could do the job just to save half of what I expected to spend, but in the end, it was not really what I wanted. Ft_bstrd, keep me updated with how it goes for you. It will most likely be a while before I get to the suspension, because I'm planning on redoing a couple items on my bike that will change it's weight. Thanks, Phil |
