I'll admit - a part of buying and riding a Buell was due in part, the pride of ownership - owning something made here in the U.S. of A. But I'll have to agree with Rwcfrank. Johnboy777's comment, it's not often that I laugh out loud uncontrollably from reading a comment here.  | ||

I'm of the opinion that this forum – in fact, the Internet should not be censored unless it crossed the threshold of national security, state or federal laws, or crossed the boundaries of ethics. Censorship in this case would be downright unconstitutional. That would be un-American...in humble opinion. | ||

Why is this any different then the Calvin pissing on the Chevy/Dodge/Ford symbol? Why is an American made Honda any less than an American made Harley? I see it as brand rivalry. Don't believe for an instant that Honda wouldn't love to have Harley's following in the cruiser market. Don't believe for an instant that Harley wouldn't love to have the age demographic that Honda has. Were this guy's jacket a Victory would it then be ok to laugh? I think you guys are seeing way too much into this. To me, this no different than a Ford vs. Chevy, Pepsi vs. Coke, Tylenol vs. Advil rivalry. Freedom of speech is American! When I think of America I think of our multicultural nation, the diverse landscape, freedom, and rock n' roll (especially The Ramones). On the other hand, I don't think of a faceless multi-nation corporation that could give a rat-ass about it's workers as the symbol of America. That goes for Harley, Microsoft, GM, Hostess, Apple, Nike, etc... | ||

In this day and age of digital imaging I would not doubt for a second that this is a photoshop image. No doubt the image represents the feelings expressed in words by many motorcylcist all across the internet of Harley Davidson haters. And then you can go on HD forums and find haters of any brand moto other than HD. It all just pointless noise. To me the "image" that started this thread is still a useless image meant to only provoke contempt and anger.... | ||

I'm probably going to get seriously flamed for this, but.......... .....me thinks some are taking this childish picture entirely, way too seriously. While HD by all reports is an excellent American company and success story it does not represent America as a whole. It is NOT the same as pizzin' on the flag for G's sake. It's a good company that manufactures product for it's consumers, nothing more, nothing less. I've seen plenty of pictures of Hog riders in colors pizzin' on all sorts of stuff foreign and domestic all over the net(including people's personal Hondas), where's the outrage over that? Public urination is illegal in most locales in the US........but so are power wheelies, stoppies, rippin' curves beyond the speed limit and all sorts of other "hooliginisms" that are honored here and elsewhere on the net. So the legal dismay is somewhat hypocritical unless we're going to view every post depicting "bad" behavior through the same lense. Now here's my disclaimer; I in no way endorse this type of behavior in public regardless of the Symbolism it defaces. It is clearly a sign of how far we've slid down the social landscape that this stuff is considered mainstream humor. And for the record the Calvin vinyls are completely stupid and sooooooo last decade.  | ||
