Temps have come up in some places around the country and I was wondering how the new heat blanket designs are performing? Do you guys feel that they were worth it? Starting to get warm here in NoCal. | ||

I rigged up a trial one from cardboard covered with metal a/c duct tape and it did seem to help direct the air some. Never bothered taking it off yet, so I would imagine that the real ones help. | ||

The short heat blanket I got from Odie has been performing beautifully. The blanket is tucked under the electronics and completely diverts all the hot air out the shock opening and side slots. (picture on Special-Ops site) The rider's seat remains cool. The only improvement that it needs is the little flap on the right side to keep the heat from coming out the side, between the seat/frame. I will probably be ordering a new one with that feature shortly. I would rate it a SUPER A+. | ||

I have the two-piece blanket set. Excellent results. The front blanket takes care of the hot air leak at the edge of the seat. The large blanket keeps heat from soaking the bottom of the seat. Mark in arizona | ||

I have the two piece, newest design, and it definitely lowers the heat getting through to the seat. Now the only heat issue is inside the right thigh. I have an idea, i'm studying on it! If I reach a plan, I'll post it, but for now, it will remain a lunatic's insane rambling. | ||

Lower heat to the seat? Ouch! Physiologists might suggest checking sperm count/fertility before and after the heat blanket. True bike-survivalists won't forget to stand up every once in a while.  | ||

Maximum, I seem to recall you painted your blankets before installing. What kind of paint did you use? | ||

I used the same stuff that I used to dye my seat...SEM Color Coat (only in satin black). You can get this stuff at an automotive paint store. It does not get hard like normal paint would. I'm sure there are other things you could use (I remember reading that someone used a Sharpie on the exposed area), but I had used the SEM paint on my fenders and hand guards too...so I already had some on the shelf.  |
