I saw a Buell with wire wheels. I remember reading they came from Europe somewhere but cost a lot. I can't seem to find them. Does anyone know who made them and how much?

Thanks!

They are Italian made by Alpina. Hillbilly Motors carries them (from Germany) and last I knew they were still board sponsors.
Here's a link to the Italian Buell club and one of the guys has them on his Uly

Those are some sweet rims. I was thinking about getting some for my trip through South America and beyond. they would be alot stronger than the cast aluminum stockers. I bet they are $$$$$!

You might think the spokers would be stronger but my buddies R1200GS has the "strong" spoke rims and he damaged them on a small pothole on the blacktop..it cost him big bucks to have it sent off and straightened... (Woodys Wheel I think)then with most spoke rims you have to mess with a tube if a flat occurs...the Buell rims on the ULY are strong..clean spokes?.... A PITA>>> my .02

As far as I remember they were @ € 1.800,- a set. This would be almost $ 3.000,-.
Don't know how much a standard Uly rim would cost in the States, but I bet much less. Ride safe Werner

Whoa, 3k in the states. A lot more then I expected. Might be easier/ cheaper to have some stockers modded. Thanks!!

wow, for $3,000 I could buy a standard front end with regular double disc brakes and spoke rims. then I would be able to get replacement parts anywhere. I guess ill just stick with the stockers for now. I guess they are pretty strong. I havent seen anyone smash one up to bad and I have abused mine alot off road fully loaded at high speeds.
