Hey, I've got both. I have no idea how long this digital doohickey will last, but it is kinda neat looking. They are easy enough to make and the digital thermometer was shipped to my door for $16.95 with an extra battery.

The digital has to be turned on to read and then off to conserve the battery. The analog one is just a glance without touching it that's it. Simple is probably better.

EG,

Please put me down for one - you should make another run, this time, digital.

Hey Treadmarks - Are you really seeing over 200F oil temps on that big bore bike of yours? Most I've seen in stop and go, bumper to bumper is around 190F.

Adrian,

I usually get about 190 on it too, but yesterday's ride was a cooker. 90 minutes to go 12 miles, bumper to bumper, mostly first gear.

As hot as the oil was, it was rather cool on the bike. My tt front bashplate cracked and the kind folks at tt are sending me a new one, so I do believe the bike feels cooler when naked. The fan never came on till I switched it off.

I see 200deg on my stock '07 in traffic, regardless of the ambient temp.

John

EDIT:
Highest I've ever seen was 212deg.

.
