I'm wondering what everyone thinks. If the tail was made the exact same size but was all aluminum. Would this be financially feasible to create and second would it be strong enough. |

I'd say that the hinge would be the "weak" point if you are looking to carry more weight on it. I worry that it would vibrate itself to death with weight on it in the "rack" position. In other words, that it would eat up those teeth. |

I would LOVE to get a rear rack that works with the existing Buell side case racks. When touring (needs to be 1 or 2 up capable) I'd like to be able to carry more stuff on the back, but I think the Buell top case looks entirely too Goldwing. The slips-over-the- upright tail bags seem to block the rear light when slipped over the back of the tail and for two up touring anyway, I'd like to be able to keep the tail upright. I've thought about the touratech shown above but in the picture on the bike it seems like the triple tail has to be removed, and maybe the grab rails too? http://www.touratech-usa.com/shop/show.lasso?sku=3 80-0020&-session=touratech:4C6D0EE50a4e01B9EBgxo2D 58AAC |

I thought just for more weight carrying. I have held myself up on it (160 lbs). Just momentarily but seemed strong enough. Its just that the last couple of inches have no substance. I ride primarily alone and figured having the tail structurally sound enough to use as a rack when you wanted it and then folded back onto the seat when you don't. |

I have a Dane seatbag mounted to the triple tail at the moment. It has enough room for a full face helmet. The green strap goes trough the holes so the bag will not come off while riding. |

No pics just yet, but I've just strapped the American Sportbike tailbag I won at the BBQ (thanks Al!) to the triple tail in the same position, and It looks like it was made for it. I'll try and get some pics. |

To protest my girlfriend leaving me I sawed off the tail and glued in the bolt holes. That did a LOT of good. Makes the tail look nice and sleek, though. I travel light so don't miss it. |
