I'm 41. BTW Rwcfrank, my first bike was a 1978 RD400. I still lament getting rid of it! I've owned other styles of street bikes: RD400,81 BMW R/65, 81 Turbo Seca, VT1100c Shadow, 98 GoldWing, and a Dyna-Glide. The Uly is like them all rolled into one. It's like a Mixed Martial Artist of Motorcycling. It gives up very little over any other type of bike. |

You only have to grow old, but you never have to grow up!!! 35 actual age, 23ish mind set. I think the ULY owners will probably all agree that there is a 20ish kid that hops on the bike not a 46 or 50 something guy. When I felt like having fun on the back roads the ULY was there. When I did my 2 SS1000's my ULY was there. When I went to MBV to ride in the rain all weekend long my ULY was there. When I have to drive 40 miles to work one way you know the ULY is there saving me a ton of gas money. When I crashed uncountable times on a muddy single track in the AL back woods, the ULY was there but not very happy with me. she was there the following week too I never learn the first time. When my odometer hit 30,000 miles while riding the Dragon you guessed it MY ULY WAS THERE. Next month when I go for a bun burner gold (1500 miles in 24 hrs) my ULY will be there thumping along with a mid 30 father of 3 smiling the whole trip. The smile may be a grin by the 1100 mile mark. |

Age = 46, mind = 27, knees....somewhere around 70. Uly has me thinking I am 17 - spend more time looking over my shoulder for flashing lights than any other bike I have had! |

FT_bstrd - I am a Sr. Claims/Loss Control Specialist (aka, a super-charged adjuster but also equally primed to assist my clients in preventative measures) for a carrier here in MA - we do exclusively workers' comp, and all of my accounts are local. Can be heart-rending on the occasion with serious injuries, but the small percentage of claims that are fraudulent in nature bring out the hunter in me. |

I see. A P&C woman! I work for a large insurance wholesaling firm. I did a summer stint with Graward General processing initial insurance claims for substandard coverage drivers before they were passed on to the adjuster. Worst accident I ever saw was a station wagon full of women and children that ran under a semi that pulled across the highway. Nothing nastier than seven decapitations in one vehicle. The best one I was was a guy who was drunk and ran off the road. The police report stated that the individual realized he was drunk but was "too drunk to walk, so he thought it would be better if he drove". |

36 here on my '06. 2 years old and 8000 miles on it (it shares my time with a H-D Street Bob and all the rentals I do around the country). I'm still with the others with the mindset of feeling about 10-15 years younger than I am. Will this always continue? Will I still be cranking Rush and Foo Fighters as I drive my Buick to the Bingo tournament at the old folks home? |

A correction to the table: there are two riders in their sixties, OzarkDennis and myself. We both reported in the archive part of this thread. |

I'm 29, been holding there for 21 years. Have to ask the question, "Are you ever to old to ride?" Told the wife one time I will quit riding when I can't throw my leg across the saddle anymore. |

The average age of Buell owners in 1998 when I bought my White Lightning was 47 years, so I guess the average age has come down somewhat. 56 now and have been riding since 1967. Bob |

Make that "two" in the 60s...I am 60 years old. I seem to recall there are some Uly riders in their 70s, but they haven't shown up yet. After changing fork seals and tires yesterday, my poor ole body is showing its age this morning...but still up for a ride! |
