I have a '06 Uly that I really enjoy. I was wondering if anyone has ridden the Uly and the XT back to back and if they could comment on the ride. The ride on my Uly is perfect for the back roads (paved) that I ride on. The lower XT is of interest to me but would not want to give up much of the Uly's great ride quality. Thanks! |

The part about ride quality in that article was predictable. Given the reduced travel of the XT vs Uly. |

The X is no slouch mind you...but the XT is simply incredible on pavement. |

Thanks! Me thinks I will look at an XT this weekend. I do have concerns about the leg room. I've got a bad right hip and need/like the leg room on my '06 Uly with the standard seat. That being said the lower seat on the XT might need swapped for an '06 Uly seat. I would still have the 1.5" lower overall drop from the XT suspension. Am I correct in this thought? David |

Teeps said: "The part about ride quality in that article was predictable. Given the reduced travel of the XT vs Uly." Teeps, perhaps I misinterpreted the article but I thought that they said that the XT rode better except on large bumps. |

David- I'm sure the 06 Uly seat would fit on the XT. I guess you'd end up with an XT with approximately the same overall seat height as an 07 or 08 Uly with the standard seat (-1.5 inches for shorter suspension, +1.5 inches for taller seat), but with 1.5 inches more leg room than the standard Uly. |

The seat will fit the bike fine. Your assumption is correct - overall seat-to-ground will be about the same as an 07 X, but seat-to-peg will be the same as the 06 with "tall" seat. |

Thats what I need then. '06 leg room with a bit of a lower ride height. Dang that ground is far away! I really like this bike but my only concern has been the seat height. Thanks for the input! David |
