I low sided the Uly today. Just a simple left turn at the on ramp where I was accelerating coming out of the corner. I must have hit some gravel and the back end decided to pass up the front end. I went into a nice easy slide. I probably wasn't going over 30 at the time so damage was minimal (extremely minimal).

Much to my surprise the only part that actually "needs" to be replaced is my shift lever. My bar end popped out on contact and ground down the handlebars a little, and both of my pegs on the left side are ground down a bit but the bike is completely functional still. The frame pucks were untouched and the hand guard only has some minor rash. I cant believe actually how well the bike held up in a slide. I picked it up, accessed the damage and then rode home.

As for the gear, I need to replace my jacket, and the helmet. All in all very lucky.

As for ATGATT I am a frequent violator. I ruined a nice pair of jeans today. I must say I always wear gloves, a jacket and a helmet, just never any pants unless I am on the track. And no, I'm not looking for any lectures about not wearing protective pants.

As long as what was under the jeans is OK it's all good.

Always good to hear how strong the bike is, plus another rider out safe.

Here's a replacement coat for you in the valley. I inquired on it but it's a large and I need and x-large.

Glad you're OK.

These should be on your to buy list.
www.hvmp.com extra heavy

Trust me they work great in a crash. (Twice now) And they cut down on the handlebar vibration.

Bob, those look like the ticket there.

Do they cut down on the vibration enough that you can actually use your mirrors?
