I need a little help here.
What fitting do you use to convert the existing plug to a pass through fitting for connection to an Aux. tank?
The existing plug seems to be a 3/16 tube nut?
Any help would be appreciated.

Check with Wolfridgerider.

I think I remember seeing an aux tank bung on the rear of his bike.

IIRC it is an "AN" style fitting. I think you need to use a 90 degree fitting, because the straight fitting will hit the shock.

I took the drain plug to the hardware store and matched the size and threads to a barbed hose fitting. Looks something like this.

Have been running this set-up for the last 20,000 miles.

I have been going to install the aux tank on my Uly and actually bought a fuel tank drain plug to check threads. It was not 1/4 NPT. You state M-NPT. Not sure what the M part of that is. But National Pipe Thread is course and tapers to the end. The drain plug thread is square and fine. Thats why I haven't completed the install. I have 08 Uly. Wonder if there has been a change on that. Can't imagine why. But the drain plug is sitting here on the table and the hose barb I bought is beside it. Hose barb is 1/4 NPT and way different.?????????????

I wasn't able to find one at my local auto or hardware store. You may find one at a "speed shop", or if there's a hydraulic fitting store anywhere near you they would probably have one. (thats how I got mine). It's definately not pipe thread.

Here's a pic.......

the #1 is an adapter with the thread you are talking about, (fine and not tapered) #2 is a 90 degree hose barb that threads into the adapter. I believe they are "AN" style threads in the fuel pump. Hope this helps.....

The drain plug thread is 3/16 X 28.
The plug is 3/16 "O-Ring Boss (ORB) plug.

The entry adapter into the frame drain will be a 1/4" SAE Male (37 degree) x 3/16"O-Ring Boss (ORB) Adapter.
It will transition to a 90 Degree Elbow: 1/4" SAE female (37 Degree) Swivel Nut 90 X 1/4 F-NPT Female Pipe (NPTF)
I may use a 1/4" M-NPT X 1/4" Tube barb.
