Don't get me wrong someone would have to shoot me to take my Uly away, and then I would haunt it.

Sometimes I look at the XB12R, XB12STT, and the XB9X: thinking man do they look like they would be fun to ride.

If I got one of these little pups would I just miss my Ulysses on the way to work?
Or would it put a different smile on my face and be a tough decision every morning?

Anyone have a Uly and a streetfighter???

I love the street fighters as well. I sit on one every time I am at the HD dealer and think about buying one. It would be an awesome one-two punch. Love my Uly.

I wouldn't mind adding an ss to my stable at some point.

Think of it this way...you would get twice the life out of your Uly tires!

get a XB12STT for a naked street fighter and keep the Uly for longer rides and trips!

I love having two bikes. Just not having to worry about scheduling down time is a big plus.

My other bike is a Blast, it was actually my first bike and I kept it. It's a lot different than a Uly of course, but it's fun to ride in a completely different way.

I think two bikes would be fantastic.

My fince" has an Scg and of course I need to take it out once in awhile to make sure the battery is fully charged and also when I change the oil and also to check the tire pressure. I would not trade my Uly for anything (except for the 1125r, when Mr. Buell makse the sport touring version).

I'm with you EG. I'm waiting for the 1125 Uly myself.

I'll be at Barber on April 22nd to ride the 1125r and see what sort of laps I run on it versus my 600 (if Buell will let me tape my Ultralap to it).

I'm betting it's a sweet motor.

It is too soon to see any sales figures for the 1125r? I'd love to see how all the Buells are doing these days, saleswise. Or is that information kept secret?

"Anyone have a Uly and a streetfighter?"

I have a Uly and an '82 BMW R100RT. The RT has been in a shop in Memphis for a long time now (long boring story). I plan to fetch it soon. But I don't plan on keeping it once I get it back.

I do like the idea of two bikes, but I'd rather have more variety. That is, rather than two Buells I'd rather have something Italian, British or German for a second bike. The question is, would I ride a second bike often enough to justify the expense and bother?

If you are like me, you ride the bike that speaks to you the loudest and unfortunately for my 97 Electraglide it's the ULY.

"...my 97 Electraglide "

Oh right. I forgot, I should add Milwaukean to that list of countries. The new FatBob looks pretty cool to me, although I suspect the seat is too low for me at 6' 4" and I also kind of like the idea of the Sportster 1200R.

Atoms,
If you are speaking about the XL1200R, my 5'3" wife rides a 2007 version with the fuel injection. Nice but way too cramped for me at 6'1/2" let alone you at 6'4". Suspension is kinda lame also, especially compared to Buells.

EG,
I was referring to the XL1200R, yes. Thanks for the report. I really prefer the old school look of the Harleys, but now that I'm riding a Uly I guess I'll just have to settle for the Mad Max look. I'm too spoiled by the kick-ass handling, torque and comfort of the Uly to settle for less.

rather than two Buells I'd rather have something Italian, British or German for a second bike

I thought about getting something very different a really nice Cruiser or Gold Wing. I'd really love to get a Cam Am Spyder because there is nothing else like it.

But money is a factor. I already have a 2nd sometime 3rd job, and the 2nd one has been getting dumped into accessories for my Ulysses. So if I get a second bike it will probably be in a lower price range (under 5k used), and it would have to do something my Uly lacks.

Most of my motorcycle time is between jobs and home. One place that I dislike my Uly is if I have to back it up. With my feet not completely touching the ground sometimes I find it hard to back up and maneuver without power. Sometimes I think it would be nice to have a tiny bike I could park in the smallest of spaces, and that would be easy to push backwards up an incline.

Right now my wife and I are looking into moving into the country, but my work will always be in the city. Which means it’s further always and lots of different types of roads. --Possibly starting in: gravel/dirt going to freeway on to urban and back again.

The Ulysses feels like it was specific engineered to fit my needs, but sometimes I wish I had a mini version to thrash on. Although other times I wish I had a full dresser for the long rides with my wife.

Until recently I had a sport bike in the garage with my 12X. I took it out on occasion just because I felt sorry for it. It sat in the garage... lonely, neglected and a sorry shadow of its former glory.

It was fun to change bikes now and again though, but I'm glad I sold it.
Bought a couple of dirt bikes with the $ and have been having a blast trail riding with my daughter.

I don't know if you'd like a Blast or not, but you should definitely test ride one.

I had a Uly, S3T and an XB12R.
Now it's a Uly, S3T and a 1125R.
A very nice, fun, well rounded combo.

The BLAST is a fun bike that might fit the bill . . . kinda neat that you can pick up a good used one for $2,000, see how it works and if you don't like it you can turn around and sell it for $2,000.

I am with Atoms "I do like the idea of two bikes, but I'd rather have more variety. "

I like that with the different bikes you also get a different batch of friends/riders to associate with as well as different destinations.

There's a 2003 Firebolt in the Omaha World Herald classifieds with 9000 miles for $5,000 OBO. Don't know if that is good deal or not.

My current stable:

99 X1 Lightning for around town and day rides
07 XB12X with hard bags, dog carrier, gps, the works for long hauls.

However, much of that decision was based on the height of the Uly and it being a really marginal affair for me around town. If the Uly was 2 inches shorter, I probably wouldn't have gotten the X1.
