Yesterday I rode about 120 miles in a straight shot through West Virginia and into Virginia. I rode down a huge windy hill of at least 8% grade for a good 20 minutes, mostly behind another vehicle and with limited or no throttle. When the road smoothed out at the bottom, the Uly did not. It was coughing/hiccuping and just running poorly in general especially at cruising speed. After a few miles things went right back to normal and the bike ran great. So did the hill and being in overrun for a long while cause this, bad gas, stupid operator?? I checked everything out via ECMspy when I got home and found everything to be fine. Any thoughts? Josh |

Josh, I think this issue has been reported before; I had something similar happen after a long downhill ride in western NC. It seems the ECM temporarily "learns" the wrong fuel parameters when the bike is run for a long time downhill at closed throttle like this. Once you're on more-or-less level ground, a short cruise at fairly constant throttle allows the ECM to re-learn normal fueling parameters and the bike starts running right again. |

Makes sense. I thought it may be something like that, but wanted to make sure I wasn't alone. Thanks for the response Hugh. |
