Who has run the Avon Distanzias long enough to report on treadlife compared to the Dunlop D616 or Pirelli Sync? I would like to know if these Avons would last any longer.

I think the last Distanzia rear lasted about 4,000 miles (and I'm pretty easy on tires). The 17-inch sizes that fit the Uly are a Supermoto tire, hence softer. They stick well on pavement for that reason. I use them exclusively. Great tire.

I get 3:1 F/R mileage.

DR Greg: Had you used the Sync's before? And if so...what kind of mileage did you get from them? I normally get 7500 miles from my rear Sync, and I have a set of Distanzia's ready to mount...so I am curious.

I get 4-5k from rear, and 8-9k front. The supermoto compound is worth every penny...very great all around performing tire. I have only had the 616's to compare.

Depends how you ride them and on what surface...
Grasslands last week, cactus tines all over them

DR Greg: Had you used the Sync's before?

No, I've not used the Syncs. I went from the 616s to Avon Azaros (good mileage), to Avon Storms (so-so mileage), to Distanzias (some DS ability w/decent mileage).

Oh yeah, a brief bout with a Avon Pro-Xtreme Supermoto rain tire...now THAT sucker wore fast!
