I just got a new Zero Gravity plus 4 screen that came with 4 Buell pins. I thought taller screens needed a "new" type anchor system. Will the pins be okay with the plus4? |

The lower fixings for the taller screen must be the screw & nut arrangement otherwise the leverage on the screen at speed will pop it out - take care! I have a set spare if you need them. |

I think postage will be about £2/3 to send from the UK but will find out. If you are after better wind protection then I can highly recommend my Adapter Kit, then of course you don't need the screw & nuts!!! http://s251.photobucket.com/albums/gg312/Palmer-Br acket/ |

Thanks Strada, I did some post reviews and I plan to road test it a bit before I decide to go permanent. |

"Windscreen mounting hardware kit, lower" Part# 57739-07Y. About $20 US IIRC. This is the bolt/washers/sleeve/nut set for the bottom of the Buell Tall shield, designed to be used with the stock flyscreen grommets. I got an extra set to use on my stock shield w/ the Laminar Lip attached, just in case. Problem is it won't fit without opening up the lower holes in the shield. Haven't had a problem at all with the Lip mounted though, works great. |

Too chicken to drill the screen out to make them work. Exactly. I thought about using a step-bit and taking my time, but I didn't want to introduce any micro-cracks in the screen. The Lip isn't really too much taller than the stocker, I don't think there's too much pressure there to lift out the bottom pins. Can't speak for taller aftermarket screens though. |

I've got a Cee Baily 2.5" and still have the factory pins. I've had this bike going as fast as she'll go and have put probably 11,000 miles on it with the new screen and removed and re installed it probably a dozen or so times and I've never had that windscreen so much as wiggle like it wanted to come off, always rock steady. |

I have the +2.5" also. Never had a problem with it in 2 years. Just to be on the safe side (since it can't be replaced) I stuck a couple of thin metal rods (think paperclip wire) through the back side of the plastic pins so they can't pull out. |

Hi, Rwcfrank, I can keep half my promise! Found 1 set still looking for the other one. It's definately in the garage somewhere. As soon as I find it I'll post. Cheers Iain |

I have the CB +2.5" also but I did get the Buell mounting kit. I had to Dremmel the holes a bit to get it to work. Feels much more secure. Pretty cheap peace of mind. I have ordered a Strada mount so I might have an extra set in a few weeks. |

I have the ZG + 4 and use the stock pins with no problems. The lower bolt kit came out when the buell tall wind screen blew off. The first buell "tall screen" had a lip on the top that caused extra pressure on the bottom pins. If you dont have a lip you should be fine. |

Same here. I've had the ZG with only pins for over a year and even at 110mph there are no issues. I like to be able to take it off to clean it and under it without having to take the entire fairing apart and off. |

I have an 08 Ulysses, with a Zero Gravity screen fitted I knew nothing about this issue, and because I am running in, have not been much over 100mph Have never noticed the pins pulling out, but for the sake of a few £££'s will buy the factory fix |
