Anyone running those? I was thinking of getting a pair but wanted some feed back.

Thanks

I don't have a Uly yet but my X1 is wearing them.
I like them. They last a long time and grip ok.
They aren't so sensitive to temperature like the 208s are. To me, this is important.

I had a chance to try them on an FZ1... and oh boy, they suck. The turn in is VERY weird, not super stable in a straight line. The Michelin Pilot Roads are a MUCH better tire.

The D220's do wear like iron though. My dad has close to 7k on the front and rear. BUT the front began cupping really bad around 4k miles and will not go away (even running higher pressures).

I had some on my M2, and hated them. They worked OK (like the D205) when warm, but took a LONG time to warm up, only lasted about as long as the D205, and failed in a non linear fashion (they were getting bald and were done anyway, but had long strips peeling off the center line).

I'd take an Metzler MEZ6 or a Pirelli Scoroion Sync over a D220 any day.

Dunlop is to Uly as oil is to water. They don't mix.

I've run 208s and the 616s and I can't think of another tire that I've hated more. The bike turns in harder, stands up under trail braking, and feels very "un-Buell like".

When I put on Pirellis, the bike turns at the slightest push on the bar. Stays nice and stable in a turn, even on the brakes, and makes the bike feel 50lbs lighter.

I will never run a Dunlop on my Ulysses again unless they make some sort of tire with a profile not suited to a dump truck.

They come heavily recommended. Just wanted to know if anyone has tried them on their Uly yet. Their a little pricey though.

December 2007 issue of Brit mag SuperBike, they took part in a comparison test of the Roadsmart, Bridgestone BT021 and Pilot Road 2. Dunlop set up the tests in France with BMW 1200 GT, VFR800, Kawi Z750 and a GSX-R750.

They were favorably impressed and concluded that the Roadsmart outperformed the others, including wet road testing.

Quote: "What can be said with utter confidence is that this tyre is a gazillion times better than the frankly rubbish D220ST."

Since I'm not too happy with the Strada rear I'm running now I may try a Roadsmart before going back to the Sync, which I think is the best tire I've ever ridden on so far.

I used D220s on my YZF600R. After getting the suspension adjusted for them, never had a problem. Predictable, even-handling and stuck very well for sane street and twisty usage, and I was getting close to 10K miles out of the rears.

If I were doing long haul and exclusively pavement riding, I wouldn't be afraid to try them on the Uly.
