Started off the 08 riding season by attending the Montreal Bike Show on Friday. Aside from the usual Strom, GS and Multi, there was the sorta new Tiger and the coming to Canada Varadero. Sitting on the bike it felt similar to the V-Strom with a slightly better seat to peg relation, a very comfortable seat and at 6'0" I could almost flatfoot the thing. The a la VFR twin rads are cool and stock you get the linked/abs brake set-up. It "feels" to have that typical Honda built quality, slightly better than the fit and finish on the strom.
Cool bike that will deserve a test ride! Base price is TBA but the rep felt it should come in around 14 000.00 clams.
Ducati, as usual, had the nicest booth, with their bikes taking on a jewel like quality. Man, that Multi 1000S sure looked and felt good! IMHO most other "adventure" bikes sorta pale next to that thing. Check out the pics and get up to Canada after May to try and test ride one!
Cheers

I stand corrected! Have you had a chance to do some two-up riding with this bike, my wife is spoiled with the Uly and and I would like her to be as comfortable on the Duc. I am 6'-0" 200 lbs and she is 5'-4" 115lbs. We are planning a trip to Oregon next July and I have found a place that could rent a Multi with the hard bags. I am hoping I would be able to bungee a waterproof duffel behind the passenger.... let me know what you think. This will be the acid test to seem if this may be my next bike!

No two up yet. Just the way the bike rides and handles I would expect it to be far more enjoyable two up. Comfort wise, my(ex)wife never thought the Uly was very comfortable, but she liked the backrest. She said the seat shape and position just wasn't right which is what I thought of the front oddly enough. If I get anyone on the back of the Duc, I'll ask them and let you know.

I'm sure it will be vastly superior to the Uly in every way!!!!! That's pretty much all you've had to say for months. I think everyone on this forum is aware of all the issues you had with your Uly as we've heard them over and over and over......Don't they have a "Multistrada 1100 S" forum for you to go to? Geez, this gets old.....

Prowler, As I recall, Supertoon brought up the Ducati Multistrada 1100S. I guess I don't understand why you were reading this thread anyway; it's about a Honda!

Sorry, my fault, I kinda hijacked my own thread. In any case the Varadero is basically seems like a slicker v-strom, the Multi is still a jewel and maybe my next bike, I love my Uly and have had no issues with the bike but the spice of life is variety.
