The farkling will begin tomorrow. This beautiful, bone stock Buell will start getting a few extras.

PIAA 510 SMR driving lights
Autoswitch
PIAA extreme white bulbs to replace the stockers
Stebel air horn
Autocom Super Pro AVi Rider Kit
Marsee 10L tank bag
SDC backoff modulator-back ordered

Any helpful hints on install will be appreciated on any of this stuff.

I want to wire the Autoswitch to the passing flasher. Does anyone know what wires go to that switch and can I tap into it under the flyscreen? Or is there a better way to do it?

Hey, I just "tapped" my auto switch into the high beam hot wire at the rear of the headlight under the rubber cap (using electrical grease to seal the tapping point). Works great and I double side taped/tie wrapped the little autoswitch box to the horn crossmenber (fits like it was made to go there....) Have fun!

Question: What is the autoswitch, and what does it do?

Here is a picture of my original Autoswitch install...

I don't remember what wire went were, but I can try to trace my wires (probably on Saturday). Here is a picture of where I put the LED part of the Autoswitch...

I did a couple write-ups on my Autocom install (Part 1 and Part 2), but Part 3 which I haven't written yet moves the Autocom back into the tail of the Uly. It took a little modification of the BAS recall bracket, but has worked out great! Here is a picture...

Good Luck!

Hell, it made me cry when I tested it in the garage. My ears are still ringing.

Question: What is the autoswitch, and what does it do?

People seem to like them. I ordered mine from http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/product.asp?I tem=AS

Maximum,
Where did you get power for your Autocom? Did you just cut the excess metal off and bend the front of the sensor bracket one to mount it? I don't even know why those metal pieces are sticking up there anyway.

Yes, I cut off the side of the bracket, then had the front part headed with a torch, then was easy to bend over. There was a little discoloration, but that could always be taken care of with a little paint.

I first tapped power by splicing into the aux power outlet line, but as you can see in my most recent job...I put an Accessory plug on the end of my Autocom power cable and just plug it in. That makes it easier to remove the Autocom if I want to tweak with the internal adjustments.

As far as the lights go, I like them up too.

Oh, and BTW...I put a little velcro on the BAS bracket to hold the Autocom in place, and I also stuffed some foam on the top side to keep it from shaking too much.

They are especially nice when you can't see the lights, only the sun type of light coming from them!

Which Autoswitch are you guys using?

The AS-5P (High Beam, Single Press) or the AS-5P2 (High Beam, Double Press)?
