Is Bigger Better?
Planning on ordering a set of PIAA 510 SMR or PIAA 004XT. Do you get more light from one than the other or is it a looks thing? They both use the same bulbs (12V – H3 55 watt=110 watt XTRA Xtreme White). I'm also going to get matching color bulbs to replace the factory bulbs.

Can't help much here, but it may be a beam pattern difference even if the bulbs are the same. Looks like one may have a more focused beam and the other more dispersion.
I love the look of the 510 SMR SERIES, I wish it was just the grill without the giant PIAA logo in the way blocking half the light output though.

edit:
after looking at the add the 510 is a fog pattern, wide dispersion.
The other is a driving pattern, which sends more focused light way down the road.
So it depends on what your looking for. Personally I need more dispersion for riding through turns than down range light. I've put a 100w bulb in my high beam and it really reaches out there.

There are two options for the 510SMR. A driving and a fog pattern. I will buy the driving pattern part no.5192.

I have the 510's and love them. I tried to run them without the grill and the light just scatters everywhere around the edges. The grill helps preventing the edge scattering and keeps it out of my perphial vision. It also doesn't block any light, even though you would think it does. I was suprised for sure when I tested it.

I have the driving beam pattern. I think it is a great match to the Uly.

510 SMR/ extreme white bulbs
Autoswitch
Back-off XP modulator

I'll pick up a stebel horn at Advance Auto tomorrow.
Wuduya think about installing a PIAA H3 ION CRYSTAL bulb in one of the 510's?

Late entry but I have the 004XTs. I can't imagine you would need more light, especially on the street. I think Ratbuell has a set, you could ask him as well.

After talking with PIAA today I found that the 004XT and 510's have the same light output. The 510 might be a little wider due to its size. It then became a matter of which I want for aesthetics as performance is basically the same. I think the 510's look kool on the faster black Uly.

Nipsey - What is the "camo" machine partially visible on the right side of your photo above? Looks like it could be fun!

Ural hack it is - 2006 GearUp, and it quite fun! I can load my two girls in the sidecar my wife on the pillion and the whole family can putt-putt around - the only problem is it takes forever to go someplace as people stop you and chat non-stop. They call it UDF, Ural Delay Factor!
