Just a quick question: Can you fit a standard XB exhaust to an Uly? If not, why not? What needs to be done to make it fit? |

Sidestand hits the exhaust exit if mounted to a Uly. |

Thanks Xbimmer, but if the exit was modded, then it would be fine??? |

Hmmm, don't know. BadWebber Teeps gutted and modified a Lightning muffler, that's how I learned the stand hits on a Uly. The longer side stand I assume explains why the Uly's exit is at the back of the muffler. Haven't seen him or his bike in a while, maybe he'll chime in. |

If I remember correctly, the Uly is taller so it needs a longer kickstand. It will hit the tailpipe of a normal XB muffler, but not on the Uly muffler because the pipe is longer and reinforced to take a beating off road. |

Longdog_cymru Posted on Wednesday, February 06, 2008 if the exit was modded, then it would be fine??? Yes; that was my original thought. But I ended up using a Uly tip. If I was going to do the mod over I would use a Uly muffler from the start. Unfortunately Uly mufflers seem to be difficult to obtain (at a reasonable price), so I used what I could get. If you don't mind the side stand getting a little sooty from the exhaust. The standard XB muffler fits and will work just fine. |
