Hey, I was trying to remove the engine sprocket nut on my Uly and was confused by the manual on which way to loosen it. After reefing on the thing and probably tightening it too much, I took a break and read the manual again, and realized it was lefty loosie. Did I hurt anything? I can't see anything broken or bent. I can't imagine that you could apply enough torque to it to over-torque it, short of using an impact wrench or a ~6 foot cheater bar. It's already got red (high strength) Locktite and it's tightened to ~240 ft-lbs. You probably didn't move it at all. | ||

I used a long torque wrench. The front tire almost came off the ground. I don't think it moved much though. Thanks for the re-assurance. | ||

If you didn't strip the threads, it'll run. When you get it off, look real close to see if the threads are stretched or otherwise obviously damaged. If not, I would run it without another thought. | ||

Andrejs2112, You must have gotten the primary locking tool? Don't forget to champher the plate that holds the stator wires in place then give it a good helping of silicone, to keep things from moving. | ||

Swampy, I think you emailed me that info once but I lost it. I would just file the sharp edges and silicone the wires in place so they can't rub on the metal? Thanks, AR Yes, I have the locking tool. | ||
