Looks to be going over 60km/h, so he'd be closer to redline if he was in 1st. I'd say he's in 2nd gear, assuming the gearing is similar to a US-spec Ulysses.

Looking at my speed chart I'd say...

~ 4100 rpm = 2nd gear, 44mph (70 kph)

Even the GPS says 63 KPH, which is 39.1mph.

That sounds right, because i do recall popping most of my wheelies in 2nd at about 40mph/4000 rpm.
