Got the Trex stands this week. Assembled and tried them out. Had never used wheel stand style lifts before so I was a bit cautious. Fit and finish is very good and the packing was 10+. Every part tightly wrap'd in bubble tape...must of took a good ten minutes to get it all uncovered. Front triple tree mount is solid and has full clearance to the fender. The alternate bottom of fork lifting bracket comes with the kit as well, however I have not tried them. Rear swing arm bracket works ok....enough to get the tire off the ground, but as you can see in the picture the mounts want to slide pretty far forward so it decrease the height of the left. Axle spools and the alternate lift bracket would I'm sure be better. It looks like it would be possible to remove the rear wheel with the rear stand on the swingarm mount. Anyone tried? All in all very solid and steady when the Uly is up on both mounts.  | ||

Trex eBay store...$125 for the pair plus $20 shipping....multiple color choices and you specify your bike to get the correct triple tree mount. | ||

Nice stands... If you look under your last pic in your first post, you will see those little bars on the underside of the swing arm. Line up the stand BEHIND those and when you lift the rear, those tabs/bars will prevent the rear swing arm from sliding backwards. | ||

Hey Tread...kinda odd , they don't use part numbers or models for ordering. Instead just pick the set you like based upon color and then tell them which model bike. I like the simple "no paint" gold finish. Nothing to chip or flake. Came home from work and have the bike on the stands...real nice set up to do an engine rotation. Think I'll pop the headers and get a sterling Jet Hot! Michael, I did get the mounts to "lock in" on the tabs under the swing arm and the lift is real good now. Good catch. Takes some effort to get the tabs on the Trex to engage just right under the swing arm, but it is very doable. Hey Tread, the carpet is Collins and Aikman. Put it down in the garage about 15 years ago when I figured the garage just would not work for parking cars. Same stuff they use for gym and basketball courts in elementary schools. Carpet is bonded to a thick firm felt like backing. Wears like iron as I have multiple bikes and stuff on it all the time and the stuff looks new. Ok, on to new headers and some new tires....Trex stands make you want to work on the ride. Firstbatch, Have you thought about tapping a small hole in each side of the bottom of the swingarm to put a pin/bolt in to keep the stand from sliding forward. | ||

Dentguy, i think Michael1 pointed out the fix for the sliding of the stand on the swingarm. There is a little notch to prevent the stand from sliding forward visible in the second photo in the first post. | ||

Mike_dinger,I did see that and the comment that Firstbatch made about "takes some effort to get the tabs on the Trex to engage just right under the swingarm". I was trying to offer up a possibly easier to use and more secure option. I personally wouldn't trust those tabs to keep the bike/stand from sliding.Thanks. Gotcha. I just thought you maybe didn't catch that one. It does sound like a decent alternative, but i would feel a little sketched out about drilling into the swingarm. But that's just me and my feeble opinion.  | ||

Actually the friction fit under the swing arm works good when you catch the tab as Mike suggested. Once it is engaged I have not been able to disengage and have it slide. First time doing it you can miss it and it will want to slide forward, but the bike is not going anywhere. Pretty solid mount. As far as drilling into the swing arm......that would be a no-no since the swing arm has the oil. Best thing to do is just get some spool/sliders and all will be fine, except removing the wheel obviously. I really like these stands | ||

Tread, I think it was right at a week from the order time until it showed up.....might have been a day or two less but it was pretty quick. Did not get a tracking number so I don't have a way to double check. Ordered Corsa III last night for the F&R and will be doing a engine rotate this weekend and then sending the headers off to Jet Hot | ||

There is divider further forward inside the swing arm that keeps the oil in a forward chamber? | ||

As usual you learn a lot by taking bikes apart....got the Uly stripped of wheels and the engine rotated.....these stands make for some great fun! Never having pulled the rear wheel or looked much inside the swing arm I assumed the swing arms were tubular with walls on all sides......not so, just a "c" shape with structural support castings. Dent's been there and done that. Once you get the hang of it the T-Rex rear swing arm bracket holds well if you position it under those tabs that Mike pointed out. Still though, I have a safety strap from the tail frame on the Uly going to a ceiling I-beam in the garage since I have the Uly up on the front stand as well. Can't say enough good about the quality and versatility of the T-rex stands | ||

Yeah...looks 'zactly like a backwards Baxley. Steel.....rotating the engine is the process of releasing the motor from several support mounts and allowing the motor to rotate downward pivoting off the rear engine mount. It is required to do service on the top end or removal of the headers. Lots of old threads on the topic in Badweb if you ever have the need.....best done with a Service Manual in hand to be sure you get all your torque values correct. Pretty simple task with the right tools and bike stands/supports. | ||

Thanks Batch, I haven't owned a buell for a few yrs and have been researching to buy a Uly, it sounded like some sort of required maintainance that I must have overlooked in the past, previous Buells I've owned were S3T, X1, SB9S. Riding a 1200GS as my main bike now along with a Duc, and Sporty 1200R, reading about all the GS failures is pushing me toward a new Buell  | ||

I like how this stand does not hit the duck bill. I have a PitBull Rear stand and was not able to find a matching front stand that didn't bend the bill. Did they fix that at all? | ||

Steel, I have been thinking about doing a Storz conversion with an old Sporty...love that falt track style bike! Bearly, my understanding is T-rex stands are made in Texas. Don't know about Ventura Bird, the T-rex front stand fits nicely under the duck bill. Not sure about if they made mods to the Pit-Bull. You can get T-rex in Black and Red as well | ||
