A buddy gave me a subscription to this mag at xmas , great articles and tests of "adventure" stuff. Gives excellent suggestions for trips and even includes handy map tear-outs at the end. It is -29 C outside, so bench "touring" is as good as it is going to get for another 3 months! Check it out... http://www.roadrunner.travel/ |

I don't have a subscription but I have been picking these up whenever I see them at the old Barns&Noble and I agree. They are one of the best motorcycle rags out there in my opinion. They also do reviews on stuff that folks like us would actually use and seemed more impressed with function over form. What a novel idea. |

It is a very novel idea, that is why I have a subscription and bought 2 more for the father and brother inlaw. This Mag is the best every-motorcycle rider mag out there. Weather it is for the rides like the cloverleaf tours or the gear you ride with or the bike you ride it is made for the motorcycle rider. If you ever find yourself stuck in the Barns&Noble , or next to it in Linens and Things, Bed Bath and Beyond or Old Navy with the wife and kids just thumb through it till you leave and you will want to buy it. Thats what happened to me. |

Looks like a good read, and just to make you guys up north jealous me and 5 buddies are going for a ride tomorrow. Supposed to be 70 degrees. I love Texas! |

I've been getting them for some time now! Great magazine! There was one mid last year that did the big shamrock USA tour in northern GA, and it included Suches! I've going to have to find it again before MB5. Another good one was a tour they did out by the grand canyon I believe, where both the writer and his companion were riding S3T's! I couldn't believe it! (Message edited by Mikef5000 on January 26, 2008) (Message edited by Mikef5000 on January 26, 2008) |

It was the Nov/Dec issue that centered on Helen, GA area. It had 4 great day rides in there where 1 day was mostly in west NC that has what I feel to be the best riding in the east specially if you get the chance to ride it durring the middle of the week. I have been following the Trans American trail http://www.roadrunner.travel/article-6385.php story. it would be cool to do on a Uly but I think the trail is way beyond the limits of the bike. BTW Buy a whole back issue than paying for just one story so you can get the tank bag maps that come in each issue. |

I like that rag as well. I was getting it for quite some time and let my subscription lapse. But thanks for the reminder to get it again! For me, I subscribe to: Robb Report Motorcycling (For lusting) Road Runner (For great all around M/C) Motorcycle Consumer News (decent but expensive) |

I agree completely. I've been a RoadRunner subscriber for several years, and it together with Motorcycle Consumer News are the two publications I'll keep over all the others. In addition to putting together a great magazine, they are also some really nice people. They make the tour with the IMS Motorcycle Shows, so if you get a chance to go (I think Chicago might be the only stop left,) you should swing by their table and say "Hello!" Last year I stopped over and talked to them about how it would be great to have a tiny sidebar that lists all the gear used during a ride report, and *presto*, three months later, those little sidebars start showing up. I think they really listen to the subscribers. It's great that Christa Neuhauser decided to keep things running after the tragic loss of her husband (and magazine creator) Christian, back in 2005. Big thumbs up for RoadRunner! |

The other mag that is interesting is a sister publication of "Motorcyclist" called "Motorcycle Escape". I have picked up the occasional issue on news stands but have not been able to subscribe. Great stuff as well. That and my monthly copy of Cycle World keep me sane for the winter months. |

I read Motorcycle Escape while in Iraq in 2006, but I have not been able to find it for sale in the US. I have tried to subscribe to it a couple times, but the web links were not working. Strange. I really enjoyed Jamie Elvidges' writing. |

I have enjoyed both Road Runner and Motorcycle Escape and wanted to subscribe to ME. But alas, I think someone pulled the plug on it. Maybe the boys at Motorcyclist were jealous of all the fun Jaime was having. |

Yes, I think "Escape" is all done. They finally said they were going to offer subscriptions for 2007, and I don't know if they published a single issue after that. Jamie Elvidge (who was the editor) now seems to be doing a lot more work in "Motorcyclist" itself. Too bad, since it had so much promise, but better to pull the plug than to do a half-assed job with it, I suppose. Website is still there: http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/escape/ |

Just another +1 for the Roadrunner guys. My wife called to pay in full for 2 subscriptions that we bought for my father and brother in-law, they gave me a year for free because we paid up front!!! I figured I would pass it on that this is a company is really run by true motorcycle riders that would love to expand their reader base. |
