I just finished installing my new (to me) Special Ops muffler. I started it up and ...WOW! a little louder than expected. The sound though is just what I wanted. It had the deep thump I expected. My shop is only about 400 Sq Ft so the high volume may be due to the room size. I can't wait to give'r it a rip down the street. It's 10 F right now so it'll have to wait... |

I just got one last week and I love it! I don't think it's too loud. It was soooo damned quiet before, it just seems too loud. Wait till you hear the music it makes at speed..... |

Dan, What did you do as far as your ECM? Did you get a new key? Any changes? |

Yes they do. What do you mean by "over run"? I can only tell you this so far, There is pronounced increase in torque. Torque is good. I like torque. I have not had a chance to do a top end run yet but I will and will report what I find. Maybe this weekend. |

Just my 2cents, I run the Spec Ops pipe and I really like it the more I run it. I like keeping the stock look, but the loud attitude. I love keeping the jack point and the bash protection when I am playing on the dirt roads. I did notice this though, the first two weeks I ran it the bike ran just as before but with more Torque felt and the bike rev'd more freely. After two weeks I started to get a hang in the throttle, meaning the throttle wouldn't return to normal idle once I let off it. It would hover around 2k until I came to a complete stop for about 2 seconds. I thought this might be a bad intake seal and did the test, but I found nothing. I finally took the bike in to have it checked out and the dealer did a TPS reset and all was cured. I have had it on my bike now for a little over 6 months I think and since the TPS reset I have had no issues. All Love for the Spec Ops pipe. |
