What bar end weights are you all using on the ULY. And do they make much difference ? Thanks |

+1 Plus if you dump the bike, the end bars will save your levers, turn signals, and hand guards. |

Just fitted some three days ago, and they are very good - they don't get rid of ALL vibration, just lesson it, say by 20%..? Well worthwhile. |

I noticed a drop in vibes with the bar ends from HVMP but I put them on for the protection more then anything else. I think I was supposed to take a pic of them for someone but I do not remember who. So whoever wanted a pic let me know, sorry I forgot. |

I noticed an immediate improvement with my HVMPs, both by feel and mirror clarity (Aprilia Tuono). Painted them satin black, then baked them in the oven. Cool before mounting ! (Message edited by Florida_lime on January 19, 2008) |

HVMP as well. Like the others, there is some decrease in vibes but I bought them mostly as sliders. Unbelievably great customer service !! First set I ordered went to an an old address that some how paypal went back to for some reason. No problem, they shipped another set. These were the wrong ones though (prob my fault) but no hassle they shipped another set without even waiting for me to return the wrong ones. Quick returns on all my emails. I wish they sold everything I need |

I think that I saw some with a throttle lock somewhere. Anyone else know? |

Do a search for Kaoko throttle control. They are very nice (and very expensive) but do not add much weight. |

Skully at Dark Horse Moto is working on something similar to the Kaoko. His other products are excellent; I recently added my HVMPs, but may go his route at some point. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/328616.html?1199673604 |

08Uly, how well does that CAT O-ring work as a throttle lock? I've used an O-ring on my Concours, but not on my Uly with the HVMP weights. |

It works well. I've only used it inside the hand guard (on the grip) but may try it out on the weight (so long as it doesn't tend to roll off when not in use). |

Thanks for all the responses, But I though they were putting the hand Guards on the out side not the inside of the weights? Any one have any pitchers of the finished product? Thanks again (Message edited by tomtower on January 20, 2008) |

Tom, The weights are designed for the hand guards to snap on the inside. I tried to take a pic, but my camera's dead. 08Uly's pic above is the finished product, and you can find at least one more pic with the guards on hvmp.com |

I'll take anything to reduce the vibes. The HVMP's are a great investment. My 08 had some exceptional vibes and the HVMP's helped a good deal. Now the bike is a lot more drivable. There were a few other old HD tricks I pulled too. There was a thread in here called vibe reductions. Next trick is the Amsoil 20-50. Amsoil always makes machines happier. The O-ring suicide cruise control looks interesting! |

The hand guards go outside when using the Kaoko's.

I second the comment about HVMP's great customer service. They wrote a personal email to me advising that I had ordered the incorrect model, corrected the order for me, and refused to charge me the higher price for the correct model. She also said that her husband uses them on his Uly, and to say hello to all the Badwebbers out there. Nice. I've only done some quick rides with the bar ends, and notice a small drop in vibrations. The vibes didn't really bother me before - I really bought the bar ends for the tipover protection (not saying I'm going to tip over, of course - at least not on my bike!). |

Good reminder. You have to make sure you order the Extra Heavy ones to use with the handguards. |
