Please share your experience with any of these tires. I am looking for a mostly street tire that works well in the rain and last longer than the syncs that I squared off. I live in Miami, and we have no curves.

If I were you, I would be checking out those "multi-compound" tires. I don't remember who makes them. They have a harder rubber compound in the center for better straight line wear. They probly cost as much as two 616's however. |

I have the Shinkos, 2nd photo up from bottom. They work fine for me on dry roads. I don't do wet roads, so I have no comment. I have a little over 5k miles on the set and the rear looks like it will easily go another 5. The front is starting feather; appears mostly from braking loads. The rear is pretty evenly worn. The price is why I tried them, a buck fity to my door for the set (but that was a year ago.) If you are not interested in setting "the" fast lap time, the Shinkos might be wort a try. |

Dan, just a quick note. I haven't checked in a couple of weeks, but the Pirelli Diablo Corsa III (dual compound) back tires are cheaper than the Sync's. Just under 130 for the back. Ok they went up. they are now 146 for the back tire. I guess they were really on sale last month. I buy my tires at the Motor Cycle Super Store. The Michelin Dual compounds tend to be more expensive. |

I live in the mountains and the tires take a real beating. I find the pirellis to be a good all round tire so far. My Vic SC was getting 2500 to 3500 miles per set of tires. I like the traction and control of metzlers but they wore badly on the sides and the centers were still usable. This may be an option. Michelin offered a good tire that seemed to last long but they were numb. Dunlops were OK. Whatever you put on it, I would strongly recomend going to a tire shop that has a nitrogen service. I have it in all my vehicles now. The results are definately noticeable in the ride and they say the tires last longer. |

You do not have the Avon Distanzia shown, although only a 160mm rear tire, it mounts without trouble and looks like it is correctly size sitting next to the Sync's.

Get the new Michelin Pilot Road2, they have the new 2CT technology and stated to be excellent in the rain..and should last much longer than the Syncs. |

I second the Michelin PR2's. In Florida it can be sunny one minute and pouring rain the next. I've got a set on my Z750 and the confidence in the rain is amazing. |

I just got 10.5K out of a rear Scorpion by maintaining proper air pressure. They work great on mountain roads here in NM and well enough in the dirt, also good in the rain. The rear Scorpion on my TT will be done at around 6k due to extremely aggressive riding and track days. I'll probably put Diablos or Corsas on the TT next. |

I just put a Michelin Pilot Road 2 rear on my 12Scg and love it so far. Just as sticky as my Pilot Powers. |

+whatever on the Pilot 2CT. They really work well here in Florida.I had a set on the R1100S that I traded for my ULY, and after a 1700 mile trip to Asheville this summer, they had no appreciable wear. Bob |

I have run D616s, Avon Azaros, Avon Storms, Pirelli Stradas, Tomahawks, and will be mounting a set of the Pilot 2CTs next. Of them, the best traction came from the Avon Storms. They are a dual compound. The D616 rear was done at 2800 miles, the Avon Azaro (discontinued) was done at 3500 miles. The Storms were done at 4000 miles. The Strada was done at 1800 miles. The Tomahawk will run about 3000 miles. I will be interested in seeing how the 2cts to. I bought them from these folks: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Michelin-Pilot-Road -2-Motorcycle-Tires-180-17-120-17_W0QQcmdZViewItem QQcategoryZ35601QQihZ017QQitemZ270202554236QQrdZ1Q QsspagenameZWDVW And would buy from them again in a heartbeat! They have sets of: Corsa III for $224 Pilot Roads 2 for $280 Pilot Roads 1 for $230 I bought them on the 7th. They were on my doorstep on the 9th. |

Thanks for the link, Ft_bstrd. I just bought a set of Michelin Pilot Road 2. I checked around quite a bit on the net and could not find them any cheaper. |
