edit: I meant the exo 1000 helmet. Most of you already knew that though but my fingers, although not fat are not that accurate on the key board.

I'm told they are back ordered till March now. Heck I paid for it two months ago. Kind of irritates me, you know? Must be a real popular helmet or they are having problems. I sure hope they are late because of the popularity.

I had high hopes for that helmet - love the internal shade concept. But between the delay and some of the recent reviews I went with a Shoei RF1000. Looking forward to what you think of the Skorpion. I really like the Shoei

A little off topic, but about delays:
Be thankful that you didn't sell your current bike for the BMW 800GS that was due in March; now delayed until September !

I didn't, but there are some pi$$ed off people on ADV rider.

Yea, I can see how they would be a bit irritated but then again i would never sell a bike before the one I wanted was actually released. I like the looks of that new BMW but am happy with my Uly for now. I am waiting to see what tires will be released in it's sizes over the next couple years. I am lucky enough to have mine paid for so if I want a more dirt oriented bike I will probably shop around for my high school dream bike, a mid 80's XL600R.
The good news about the helmet is some have shipped in other colors but the flat black I liked hasn't come in yet and that is the date given. I did try one that the dealer had last fall. It fit me well didn't move around like some do, the pump actually sealed it off well. I could not hear the sales girl talk with it on. I can hear people talk with my other helmet on. I think the visor controls will take some getting used to but no more then reaching around for a ignition switch, which is second nature now.

Wow! Sorry to hear about your wait for the helmet.

I wandered into a local shop here in Nashville (Gooch's Powersports) back in the summer and they had a shelf full of them. Even gave me a discount for being an MSF instructor.

They didn't have the solid white I wanted, but they did have the white one with graphics. It doesn't look bad.

The fog free shield is WONDERFUL. It will get wet, but won't fog up. Amazing.

The helmet is comfortable, but it a bit heavy compared to my Arai, but I don't really notice it.

I prefer to ride with a clear shield, so I really like the EXO 1000. I can pop down the tinted visor when I need it and put it back up when I don't.

For track days on my sportbike, the shell of the helmet is a little thick to get good clean vision without cranking your neck way back. That's due to the extra thickness from the built in tinted screen. It's a good trade off though.

I like the pump up cheek pads, but took a "set and forget" approach to it. I put the helmet on, and pumped it up a couple of pumps and left it. As the cheek pads compress and the helmet starts fitting less snug, I can pump them up a few more pumps.

The only thing that really bugs me is the chin vent. I tend to carry the helmet by the chin bar, and when I do, it closes the vent. I have to remember to open it back up when I put the helmet back on.

For $300, it's the best dang helmet on the market. It's nearly as comfortable as my $450 Arai, and it doesn't fog up, I mean NEVER. Even on cool mornings. It will "sweat" and you'll get water running down the inside of the shield, but it won't fog. The shield is REALLY easy to pop off and clean or change.

Here's a shot of the EXO 1000 in action:

That is all good info. I haven't read any reviews on the web because I usually like different things then the reviewers. Thanks

Anyone have any comments on the new HJC that has the internal visor system. FC15?? I think. I tried one on and it fits well. Not sure on road noise of the internal speaker pockets. Any info would be nice.

Thanks, Brian

FS10 according to their website, looks interesting -- wonder how it would clear eyeglasses ?

http://www.hjchelmets.com/

There is a video of the helmet on their site, tried linking to the video with no success; maybe someone can make it work ?

I have the exo 1000 and love it. It clears both of my glasses, and the flip up goggle shield is the bomb.

I scratched my clear shield, and replacement shields are not available yet.

All this had me checking different helmets online, found this on the EXO 1000:

Opinions vary, of course; didn't sound like they liked it.

I have the EXO 400. I like it a bunch. It may not help since you have money down, but I was in Moto Liberty (Dallas) a couple of weeks ago and they had several 1000's on the shelf. I bought my 400 at The Helmet Source and Moto liberty was a little higher on their prices, but not a lot and like I said they had several in stock. They are at www.motoliberty.com

I would like to 2nd the comment about the BMW guys being pi$$ed. My best buddie sold a 1150 GSA to put money down on the new GS800. When he found out he wasn't getting one until September he bought a beautiful 2005 Triumph Tiger. He is not happy with BMW right now!

Well after one long ass wait it is here today. Unfortunately I still have four inches of ice in front of my garage. My bike won't be coming out for a bit yet. I have a large helmet and it is snug. The pump fits it to my cheeks fine. I do not like the way the internal visor leaves a bit of light under it but in it's defense it will not be a problem on the bike where I tend to look through the upper portion anyway, it doesn't go all the way down and when hot I imagine I will like that so i can ride and still get extra airflow. Once I get to ride with it I will do an update post. Thanks every, Bertotti
