I have seen the ROX risers mentioned a couple of times, but no one says if they had to replace the cables. I would like to assume that lack of mentions means they didn't, but we all know what assume means. So, has any one that went to ROX risers had to replace their cables? I would like to raise my bars up a tad so I can stand up a little better when the conditions require, but if I have to replace the cables I think I will leave well enough alone. Thanks | ||

You don't have to replace any cables. You DO have to remove the right brake cable clamp and reroute the cable. | ||

Removed the right brake cable clamp which gives the brake cable enough room and the only cable needing rerouting is the throttle cable. | ||

Sorry, out of town on vacation in Charleston, SC right now and PC access is kinda iffy. Been ridin mah butt off, till in got down into the 20s last night. Us Floriduh folks ain't used to this sheit. The ROX risers are a perfect match for the Uly. Run the throttle cables on the left side, between the top tree and the dash. They will fit perfectly in the space between the dash mounting bolts right under the "U" in the uly logo on the dash. Like Gotj mentioned, just remove the right brake hose clamp, behind the cowl. The ROX risers work great with the ohheight trees too! | ||

I got mine for Christmas and put them on. I didn't have to relocate reroute the throttle cables. I did cut the ty-rap on the left side of the neck to slide the cables slightly then put another on on, but that's all. Finally got the snow out of my driveway and got out for a test. The bike fits perfect now!! I can stand on the pegs without bending over, don't have that numb feeling in my right hand from leaning too far forward, and can see more than my shoulder out of the mirrors. Best thing I've added to the bike for me. | ||

Johnboy, I'm 6'0 and I think my sleeve is 34 or 35. For being 6'0, my legs are relatively a lot longer than my arms, my inseam is something like 36. When standing on the Uly, I had to bend way over which both put my head way out front, and was too uncomfortable to do for any length of time. Had to reach a little when seated also, pulling weight over onto my hands, causing some numbness. Despite having the tall '06 seat I still wish I could lower the pegs a little to uncramp my legs. | ||

I had just the opposite problem. I have really long arms and relatively short legs. I'm 6', 32" inseam and 35/36 arms. I was VERY upright and when I leaned into turns, my arms got all bunched up. I shortened the height and widened the bars. Now I lean slightly forward and don't have crocodile arms. |
